Hi..my name is Nadene Sheppard
From an early age I knew something was different and very quickly learnt how to deceive those around me, yet live an alternate life as female. In the previous role I tried very hard to deny who I really was which caused frustration and psychological challenges just to continue life.
As the internet evolved I found out who and what I was, with the various, contacts, people, venues and information became easier to obtain. So I realised I was a woman trapped in a male body. Due to society and conformance I suppressed my anxiety, yet the desire to change became stronger as time passed.
I, like many, spent most of my life living two lives, though each had its rewards and regrets! Only one will eventually win.
Since I was young I had my share of relationships and the last one as my former self provided me with 10 years of marriage and I was a proud father of four beautiful daughters and a lifetime of experiences. The other! Well it eventually caught up and so changed my journey!
After a nasty divorce I had the choice of living like a hermit hiding my true self, Or to accept an embrace my real character and build a life.
I was diagnosed as Gender Dysphoric and underwent the relevant physiological, hormone and surgical changes to be feminised physically. Commonly referred as a MtF Transsexual as definitions go, I live, work and enjoy life full time in the feminine role, to which I am so much happier and settled as a woman.
I have attended many clubs and venues in this time, one being Pink Punters, where I was greeted with friendship, security and in many ways contributed in who I am now, and so many good friends I'm proud to be associated with.
As a result I am more than happy to help and support others in their first steps out with the experiences I have gained. And to support Pink Punters in their unique venue that has helped so many in the LBGT community additionally educating the wider community of diversity. If you're nervous or shy, Pink Punters is the ideal venue to come out and if you require a supportive introduction, contact us for assistance. Don't think you are alone, speak or contact someone, because as I found it opens up so much more to enjoy, plus access to help and support. Life's to short and though it presents challenges it's worth it.
I am proud of whom I am whatever the title we fit in. Don't be ashamed of who you are and those that mock or laugh are the ones who need an education.
Love fun and Kisses
